How to use a Hair Donut

 Bonjour petit amis!
So I bought a hair donut from Claire's, and I couldn't figure out how to use it despite the directions. One day I was just messing with my hair in front of the mirror and I figured it out. *Round of applause*
If you're having this problem, here's a step by step guide of how to do it. The hair donut works best for people with shoulder length to mid-back length hair. Make sure that your hair donut matches your shade of hair.
1. Brush your hair to get rid of knots and tangles. Put your head down so that your hair is falling towards the floor. Brush all hair to the top of your head, making sure that it is smooth. Put an elastic or two in to hold it in place. Put the elastic farther on your head than you think you will need it, because your hair will move around a lot. (You can stand up now!)
2.Put your hair donut on top of the elastic by pulling your ponytail through the middle of the donut.
3. Fix your hair so that it's covering the donut.
4. Make sure that you have some bobby pins on hand. Take a chunk of the hair resting on top of the hair donut and pull it down to cover the sides of the donut. Pull it tight so that it stays, and wrap the ends of that chunk around the base of the donut, where your elastic is. Bobby pin in in place.
5. Go around your head, taking chunks of hair and pinning them to the base.
7. Push the bobby pins in farther if they're showing. If you have hair sticking up at the back of your head, you can pin that down too. Your bun is now finished, if you have crazy hair you can seal the deal with some hairspray, but otherwise the bobby pins should do their job pretty well.

Most amazing way to announce to your crush that you like them!

The Perfect Valentines Day Outfit

So Valentines Day is coming up, and everyone wants to look their best on The Day of Love so we decided to write about how to look, cute, comfy, and gorgeousss

Step one
Choose something colourful, try to incorporate red, pink, or white. Or you could wear a cute dress. If you're going to a dance, wear something light so you don't sweat buckets when your dancing with your crush (refer to slow dancing article.) Keep in mind, you want to look appropriate for your age and respect your school dress code.

Step two
Now onto every girls favourite thing... SHOES!! ahaha :) If you choose to wear a dress or skirt, try to wear flats or ankle boots. If your school has dances, wear something that you will be able to dance in. If you're going for something more casual (t-shirt and jeans) you can wear pretty much anything, boots, TOMS, flats, UGGS, ankle boots, etc..)

If you guys want to see a post about the perfect makeup or hair, email us  (mialyric1@gmail.com) and let us know !!

Things to do if you're not visited by Cupid

All alone on the 14th? Here's some ideas to get you through it!
-Don't be sad at the dance! If your crush rejects you or is dancing with a girl you absolutely can't stand, don't stand against the loner wall/corner. Hang out with other solo people.
-Read our blog
-Watch vids on youtube to make you laugh (I recommend the O2L videos)
-Hang out with other single friends
-Try out a new recipe (brownies, cookies, cupcakes)
-Watch Mean Girls with your pals
-Take a lot of selfies
-Blast some music
-Go see Beautiful Creatures! In the theater! It comes out on the 14th, best book ever, you have to see this movie!!!!!! Check out the trailer

Slow Dancing

Hey!
So Valentine's Day is coming up fast...a lot of us have a dance to attend! If you've never slow danced with someone before, you need to be pre-informed.
At the dance, you'll be jammin' out to some catchy song (Thrift Shop!) with your group of friends and all of a sudden the music gets slooooooooow. Your stomach will most likely get butterflies all of a sudden because everywhere you look, there's going to be people dancing together. Don't sweat it though!
The Question
If a guy you really don't like asks you to dance, and he's absolutely disgustinggg you can say no if you  want, just make sure you're nice about it. You can also take the pity route, and just go for it. You'll make him really  happy. As I said, you can say no, just say "I'm going to sit this one out" or "I was just heading to the washroom, sorry" or something like that. If your crush asks you to dance, please try not to faint or squeal with joy. A simple "sure!" should do the trick. And who said girls can't ask the guy? Go for it! Just say "hey, want to dance?". If he says he's already saving that one for someone else, you can ask him to save the next one for you. You can also get a friend to ask the guy for  you, just make sure that you and your friend don't keep begging him to dance with you, because you'll scare him off.
Body Placement
You can do whatever's comfortable but this is how most people dance in junior high: you guys stand across from each other and he puts his hands on your waist. Don't be shy to tell him to move his hands up if he's just a little too low. You put your hands on his shoulders, or you can lock your fingers behind his neck/upper back. If you're both okay with it, you can rest your head on his shoulder and dance like hugging. Then you just sway back and forth. Don't worry if you're sweaty or clammy, he might be too. It is a dance after all.
Height Differences
If you're taller than your date: don't hunch. You'll look like a humpback and make him feel really insecure and short. If you're shorter than him, you can lean into him with your head resting on his chest or rest your hands up on his back instead of his shoulders.
Where to Look
You can look at other people dancing together and smile at your friends and stuff. You can also look at your date. I tend to do both so that I'm not creepy by staring at him for the full two and a half minutes and so that he doesn't think that everyone else is more interesting than he is. If your chin is on his shoulder, it really doesn't matter where you look.
People Around You
His friends and your friends will most likely be making fun of you guys: kissy faces, hearts and winking. Just ignore them and don't let them ruin your special moment. Speaking from experience: don't let your date get mad at other people who bump into you. This prevents a fist fight from occuring in the middle of the gym. Speaking from experience, you guys.
After
Your friends will most likely rush at you when the song is over and drag you away. In some cases this is good as it saves you from awkwardness. You can smile at your date and say a sweet "thanks". In some  cases, he'll bring you closer and hug you for a few seconds, and in some other cases, he might give you a kiss.
Good luck!
